(George)– Lyon county authorities have filed charges against two people in connection with one attempted and one residential burglary last week in George.
Authorities say the first report was received Wednesday morning. They say a George man reported someone had entered his residence and then fled when he confronted the intruder.
Shortly after 7:00 p.m. that evening, another George resident reported her home had been burglarized sometime that same day. About three thousand dollars worth of items were reported missing.
Thursday, deputies with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office obtained and executed a search warrant on a residence at 204 West Indiana in George. During that search deputies noticed the items that had been reported stolen and a subsequent search warrant was obtained. Authorities say almost all of the property was recovered at that residence, along with two bicycles that had also been stolen from George.
A 16-year-old male, who’s name wasn’t released, was charged with one count of burglary in the third degree…a class “D” felony; one count of attempted burglary in the third degree…an aggravated misdemeanor; two counts of theft in the fourth degree…both serious misdemeanors; and one count of criminal mischief in the fourth degree…a serious misdemeanor. He is being held at the juvenile detention center.
A second subject who lives at the residence that was searched, 24-year-old Alejandro Uriostegui was charged with possession of stolen property…a class “D” felony. He was booked into the Lyon county jail.
