LRH Trustees Updated On Change In Leadership At Public Health; Adopt Budget Levy

February 25, 2026

(Spirit Lake)– There’s a new leader at Dickinson County Public Health. Brandi Larsen is the new Director of Population and Public Health. That position was previously held by Katy Carey who is the new Director of Philanthropy at Lakes Regional Healthcare. The changes were announced at today’s (Wed.) meeting of the hospital’s Board of Trustees.

Board members also approved the property tax levy for the upcoming fiscal year, keeping it the same as last year, at 48 cents per $1,000 of valuation. It ranks among the lowest of 44 county hospitals in Iowa. The hospital makes up about two percent of the average property tax bill in Dickinson county.
