(Spirit Lake)– Lakes Regional Healthcare will hold several events next week (May 20-26th) in honor of National Emergency Medical Services week.
LRH’s ambulance staff will hold a meet and greet Tuesday, May 22nd from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Hy-Vee parking lot in Spirit Lake. Another meet and greet will be held Thursday, May 24th, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Buy-Rite in Milford.
Ambulance staff will be present at both locations and available to speak to the public. They’ll also be handing out informational pamphlets.
An open house will be held Wednesday, May 23rd, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the ambulance garage at Lakes Regional Healthcare. It will feature various displays from EMS providers in the county and some partner agencies. North Memorial Helicopter plans to have its helicopter on the helipad just outside the LRH ambulance garage for the public to view. Dickinson County Emergency Management will have information on how to make a home safety kit. Dickinson County’s Communication Center will present information on how to properly use 911. Those in attendance will also learn how to extinguish a small fire using a fire extinguisher. There will be other learning stations as well.
Drawings for free swimming lessons provided by the Bedell Family YMCA, smoke detectors and more will also be held.
