(Spirit Lake)– Lakes Regional Healthcare is introducing the public to a new high tech tool available in the hospital’s Emergency Room.
eER consists of two-way video equipment in the Emergency Room at LRH that’s connected to emergency/trauma-trained physicians at a central hub at Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls.
The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Officials with LRH say eER provides several advantages, including additional physician consultation; decreased wait times in the Emergency Room; care that’s close to home; seamless transfers with improved communications between hospitals; and that it supports the activation of emergency transport teams as early as possible, saving important time.
LRH officials say the eER system complements the care provided by the emergency-trained physicians already present in the hospital’s Emergency Department.
