(Spirit Lake)– If you saw a lot of law enforcement agencies and other activity recently at Lakes Regional Healthcare, you can rest assurred knowing it was only a drill.
The scenario involved two men entering the hospital demanding drugs and behaving violently, threatening employees with weapons.
Staff from all area of the hospital, Spirit Lake police and the 18-member High Risk Entry and Arrest Team, or HEAT, were involved in the exercise.
LRH Director of Facilities Fred Kruger says they were pleased with how the drill went, adding there are always things that can be improved upon.
