(Spirit Lake)– The hospice program at Lakes Regional Healthcare has received some special recognition. It’s been designated as a “Special Performer” by Strategic Healthcare Programs for achieving an overall caregiver and family experience score that ranked in the top 20 percent of all eligible SHP clients for the 2024 calendar year. LRH Marketing Director Jennifer Gustafson says they’re excited to have received the designation…
“It basically, the criteria is determined by reviewing and ranking the overall CAHPS. That’s basically, we submit information to basically the government every month and it talks about what our service scores are and that is basically what everything is based off of.”
Gustafson goes on to explain how the LRH Hospice Program is structured…
“It’s usually for people who have a terminal illness and a diagnosis where they will most likely not live longer than six months. And what’s nice is that their loved ones, their family members, also receive hospice services for a year after the patient’s passing. They work with nurses, social workers, homecare aids, pharmacists, clergy including maybe our hospital chaplain, massage therapists and so it really provides a lot of different services for them.”
