(Spirit Lake)– The Lakes Regional Healthcare Foundation has received a donation of nearly $3,600 to be used to help cancer patients.
The donation was made possible by a golf tournament and derby event held earlier this month at Emerald Hills Golf Course. 96 golfers were involved in the tournament with 76 people involved in the derby activities.
Jennifer Gustafson, Executive Director of the Lakes Regional Healthcare Foundation, says the donation will be used to provide a number of services for the hospital’s cancer patients, such as transportation to and from chemotherapy visits.
Gustafson says the Lakes Regional Healthcare Foundation was established earlier this year for the purpose of supporting and benefiting the expansion and improvement of healthcare services to the area.
