(Storm Lake)– A long-time District Court Judge in the 3A judicial election sub-district has announced his retirement.
District Judge John P. Duffy of Storm Lake was appointed to the bench in 1994.
Judge Duffy is a graduate of Buena Vista College in Storm Lake. He attended Drake University in Des Moines for his law education.
The Iowa Supreme Court has appointed Judge Duffy as a senior judge. As a result, he will continue to serve the Third Judicial District by working 13 weeks each year through April 12th, 2014.
A retirement reception for Judge Duffy will be held this Friday, April 20th, from 12 Noon until 3:00 p.m. at the Buena Vista County Courthouse in Storm Lake.
