Local Unemployment Rates Hold Fairly Constant In July

(Undated)– Latest unemployment figures from Iowa Workforce Development show no change in Dickinson county’s jobless rate from June to July.

The agency says the county’s unemployment rate remained at 5.4 percent in July…the same as June.

In Clay county, the July unemployment rate dropped slightly…to 5.3 percent…compared to 5.4 percent in June.

Emmet county posted the highest rate in July…at 6.6 percent…up from 6.5 percent in June.

In O’Brien county, the jobless rate for July stood at 4.6 percent…down slightly from 4.7 percent in June.

Osceola county posted a 5.1 percent unemployment rate in July, compared to 5.3 percent in June.

And in Palo Alto county, the July unemployment rate was at 4.6 percent…down slightly from 4.7 percent in June.

Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was at six percent in July…the same as June, but was down from 6.2 percent from the same month a year ago.
