(Des Moines)– State Representative Royd Chambers of Sheldon will miss the upcoming legislative session because he is being deployed to the central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan.
It’s the third time Chambers, a member of the Iowa Air National Guard, has been deployed as part of the United States’ war on terror. The previous deployments occurred when the legislature wasn’t in session.
Chambers is a republican who has represented his northwest Iowa House District since 2003.
