Local Lawmaker Appointed To Broadband Governance Board

(Des Moines)– A local lawmaker has been appointed to a panel overseeing efforts to bring broadband internet acces to all Iowans.

State Representative John Wittneben of Estherville has been appointed to the Broadband Governance Board by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of Des Moines.

Established through IJOBS, the board is charged with putting forth efforts to create a comprehensive plan for the sustainability and development of high-speed broadband access to both un-served and under-served areas of Iowa. The board also has authority to award grants for projects working on sustainability of high-speed broadband access to un-served and under-served areas of the state.

The appointment was announced this (Wednesday) morning.
