(Spirit Lake)– A local judge has been elected by his peers to represent the Third Judicial District of Iowa as a board member and officer of the Iowa Judges Association. The Honorable John M. Sandy will be one of eight judges serving in such a capacity.
The Iowa Judges Association is made up of judges at all levels of the judicial branch in Iowa to promote fairness and confidence in the courts, along with assisting state government in matters relating to the administration of courts.
Judge Sandy was appointed to the bench in 2021 and is chambered at the Dickinson County Courthouse. He also leads the Clay and Dickinson County Drug Court programs.
