(Estherville)– The Estherville-Lincoln Central FFA chapter is urging area farmers to sign up for a program that provides grants to various non-profit organizations of their choice.
The Monsanto fund’s “America’s Farmers Grow Communities” program makes it possible for area farmers to be eligible for a $2,500 grant to go toward a non-profit organization of their choice.
Jenny Lichty, FFA Agricultural Educator and FFA advisor at ELC says they could use the funds for renovations to their greenhouse, including a new covering and heating and cooling systems.
Farmers age 21 and over who are actively engaged in farming a minimum of 250 acres of corn or soybeans or 40 acres of open field vegetables are eligible to apply for the “America’s Farmers Grow Communities” program. They can do so online at www.growcommunities.com or by calling 1-877-267-3332.
