(Sleepy Eye, MN)– A group of Minnesota law enforcement personnel is being recognized this week for their efforts in capturing a killer. Kyle Ricke fatally shot Algona Iowa police officer Kevin Cram in September of last year and was later arrested in Sleepy Eye. Ricke was found guilty of killing Officer Cram back in July by a jury in Dickinson county.
Receiving the Medal of Valor from the Brown County Sheriff’s Office were Brown County deputies Jason Fairbairn and Justin Robertson, Sleepy Eye Police Officers Taylor Bolinger and Peter McGarry and Minnesota State Trooper Valerie Hauser. Brown County dispatcher Julie Hellendrung received the Medal of Merit.
