(Sioux City)– A Las Vegas, Nevada man has pled guilty to a federal drug charge in a case that has ties to northwest Iowa. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 58-year-old James Conlan pled guilty Wednesday to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
Conlan admitted that between January 2021 and December 2021, he and others were involved in a conspiracy that distributed more than a kilogram of methamphetamine by having the drug mailed from Las Vegas to an address in Cherokee.
Sentencing is pending completion of a pre-sentence report. He remains in the custody of a U.S. Marshal in the meantime.
