Lakes Area Law Enforcement Agencies Report Quiet Fourth

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– There may have been a lot of people in the Iowa Great Lakes over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, but area law enforcement agencies say things were relatively quiet.

Dickinson County Sheriff Greg Baloun tells KUOO news 40 arrests were made between Friday night and Sunday night. Baloun says they’ve known in past Fourth of July holiday periods to book that many people into jail in just one night.

Of the arrests that were made over the weekend, Baloun says most were for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
