(Milford)– One lakes area city is expressing concern over renewed plans by Red Rock Wind LLC to put up turbines in eastern and central Dickinson county. The Milford City Council Monday evening reviewed a letter and map from the company outlining the project’s boundaries. City officials are expressing concern, saying some of the turbines could be located closer to town than what they would like. Mayor Steve Anderson feels a recently adopted update to a county ordinance establishing a setback of 1,600 feet isn’t far enough. The city had requested a three-mile separation from its boundaries to allow for future growth. They want the county to re-visit the matter. The council will consider adopting a formal response to county officials at their next regular meeting. In the meantime they’re hoping to get other cities involved in the matter.
