(Lakefield, Mn.)– The city of Lakefield is raising awareness during Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Teal and blue ribbons have been tied to light poles in the city’s downtown area as part of the effort.
Lakefield police say in 2023, they responded to six calls for service regarding sexual assault and investigated 19 child abuse or neglect cases. Officers worked with various service providers and other law enforcement agencies and are fostering further collaborations to lower the numbers.
