(Sanborn)– A Lake Park woman escaped injury Tuesday when a vehicle she was driving collided with a Canadian Pacific train in O’Brien county. It happened a little after 1:00 pm at a crossing on Redwing Avenue just west of Sanborn.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Lindsey Reese of Lake Park was driving a 2009 Buick Enclave northbound on Redwing Avenue and was approaching the crossing. Reese told a deputy she thought the train was stopped and attempted to go through the crossing, but wound up colliding with the side of the locomotive.
The engineer and a conductor in the locomotive also weren’t injured.
Damage to the vehicle Reese was driving was estimated at $4,000. The locomotive received some scuff marks.
