(Lake Park)—A Lake Park girl has qualified as a state finalist for the National American Miss pageant. Nine-year-old Carlie Jo Ahrenstorff qualified after competing last weekend in the state pageant, where she placed 4th runner up overall out of the 156 girls that were competing. The top five qualify for the national pageant to be held this coming November in Anaheim, California.
Carlie Jo tells KUOO news what she likes the most from being involved in last weekend’s pageant…(click here for comment.) “The funnest part of the pageant was meeting new friends and to learn new stuff about it and formal wear because it’s really fun and you can do actually an activity with my dad.”
She says she’s gained a lot from her pageant experience so far…(click here for comment.) “To just be confident and know that they’re not trying to look at what’s on the outside they’re trying to do on what stuff is on the inside.”
Carlie Jo says she’s excited and looking forward to participating in the national pageant and will be spending a lot of time in the coming months getting ready…(click here for comment.) “I just want to know what’s in the pageant out there and I want to see what’s there on the pageant, because it’s going to be all over America, all the girls, so I want to meet new girls and just see how they are and to meet them.”
