(Spencer)– A Lake Park attorney is one of two finalists nominated by the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 3A Judicial Sub-District for a district judge position created by the retirement of Judge John P. Duffy. Jon Martin also currently serves as an Assistant in the Dickinson County Attorney’s Office.
The other nominee is Carl Petersen of Lester, Iowa.
Governor Terry Branstad has 30 days to appoint one of those nominees.
The person selected would begin work as a district judge on or after October 1st.
The 3A Judicial Sub-District consists of Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola and Palo Alto counties.
