Kossuth County Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Drug Charge

(Sioux City)– A Kossuth county man has pled guilty to a federal drug charge. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 34-year-old Joey Post of Swea City entered the plea Wednesday to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine during an appearance in U.S. District Court in Sioux City.

Evidence showed that from February 2022 through May, 2022, Post and others distributed 1.5 kilograms of meth.

Sentencing is pending completion of a presentence report. Post remains in the custody of a U.S. Marshal in the mean time.

He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment and a possible maximum of life imprisonment, a $10 million fine and at least five years of supervision following an imprisonment.
