Juvie Wanted For Violating Release Conditions Leads Officers On Foot Pursuit

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A Spencer juvenile wanted for violating conditions of his release now faces additional charges after leading officers of a foot pursuit Friday.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were contacted by Juvenile Court Services to transport the 16-year-old to Youth Emergency Services in Cherokee for violating terms of his release. Deputies arrived around 11:30 p.m. Friday at a trailer at 317 West 18th Street in Spencer and made contact with the juvenile, who then took off on foot out of a back door. A pursuit ensued, with officers chasing the teen throughout the trailer court. He was eventually apprehended and was charged with interference with official acts and was taken to Cherokee without further incident.

The name of the juvenile wasn’t released.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer Police Department.
