(Spirit Lake)– Jury selection got underway Monday and is set to continue this (Tues.) morning in the trial of a man accused of fatally shooting an Algona police officer. Trial for Kyle Ricke was moved to Dickinson county from Kossuth county on a change of venue.
A number of potential jurors wound up being dismissed Monday after indicating they had already formed an opinion in the case. They were replaced with others from a pool of more than 100 potential jurors who were summoned.
Opening arguments in the case will get underway once a jury is seated.
