(Spirit Lake)– A jury has convicted a 74-year-old Spirit Lake woman on charges of sexual abuse in the second degree, indecent contact with a child and child endangerment.
Jerry Wilson Moore of Spirit Lake was initially charged back in February of this year following a joint investigation by the Spirit Lake Police Department and the Iowa Department of Human Services. Authorities say it stemmed from interviews and a search warrant that was executed on Moore’s residence.
Moore was originally charged with five counts of sexual abuse in the second degree; one count of indecent contact with a child and four counts of child endangerment.
A jury Thursday found Moore guilty on two counts of sexual abuse in the second degree, one count of indecent contact with a child and all four counts of child endangerment.
Moore was remanded to the custody of the Sheriff pending sentencing which is set for September 22nd in Dickinson County District Court.
The jury returned its verdict following a trial that lasted more than a week.
