November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Lack luster. That would best sum up interest so far in the upcoming June 5th Primary Election.

As of 9:30 a.m. Monday (5/14), only 14 absentee ballots had been cast in a Primary that will decide whether or not long time Republican Sheriff Greg Baloun will stand a chance at re-election in November. He’s facing off in the primary against fellow Republican Gary Owen.

Another race, also on the Republican ticket, pits incumbent Jeff Smith against Kevin Wolfswinkle for the new House District 1 and Republicans Josh Davenport and Megan Hess for House District 2.

There are no contested races in Dickinson county on the Democratic ticket.

Reiman says you’ll be able to switch your affiliation back the day after the Primary Election.
