JCC School Board Will Have Some New Faces On It After First Of The Year

December 26, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Jackson, Mn.)– The Jackson County Central school board will have some new faces on it after the first of the year. Rhonda Moore, Corey Hanson, Troy Schultz, Betty Hargan and Tina Polz will be sworn in. Polz and Schultz are incumbents. Current board members Jody Thrush Withers and Amy Voss did not file for re-election. The board recognized Voss and Withers for their service at the last school board meeting and each addressed the board. Voss served on the board for 8 years…

“I have been a part of JCC for 40 some years and the last eight years I’ve had the honor of being a member of our school board. I sincerely would like to thank the voters of our communities for allowing me that opportunity. Thank you to our present members and past members that I’ve had the privilege to work with. Rhonda, thank you so much for all the time you’ve taken as board chair. I want to thank our excellent teachers, coaches, and all the staff at JCC for their dedication and commitment to our students. Thank you to our administrators at each building for their diligence and devotion supporting our staff and students. Thank you Mr. Schmidt for keeping our district fiscally sound, safe, and making the tough decisions. JCC is a great place to learn.”

Withers served on the board for 11 years. She thanked the entire staff at JCC and also thanked the community…

“It’s really been one of the best jobs of my life, only taking a back seat to teaching. I’m really proud of our community. This is a small community with a small school district. They have stepped up and done a myriad of things to help our district. All you have to do is look at the donations that we get. They vote for our bond issues, they answer our surveys, they bring their kids, they get their costumes for them for the play, they get the kids to school on time. Our community is a wonderful community for an educational system, and I just want to say thank you to all of the people that make that possible.”

The JCC School Board will hold its re-organizational meeting January 6th.
