(Jackson, Mn.)– The Jackson County Central School Board has decided to launch a full search for its next superintendent, rather than offer a long-term contract to interim leader Dr. Mike Neubeck. Neubeck, who has served in the position since July, earned strong marks in a midyear review earlier this month. JCC Board Chair Tina Polz feels Dr. Neubeck has done a great job at JCC…
“I’ve been really just impressed with his interaction with students and staff and families and I think he’s brought a big, big just positive impact on our community. I’m hoping that he applies. I pray that we’ll be able to make his position permanent.”
Polz says the board is doing their due diligence…
“The board would like to go through the whole process. They want to make sure that we open it up to everybody and it’s a fair playing ground but yeah I mean that’s just kind of the thought is that make sure we get the right person for the job.”
Dr. Neubeck was hired as interim Superintendent after Barry Schmidt resigned.
The board has hired the Minnesota School Boards Association to conduct the search, at a cost of nearly $12,000. The process is expected to wrap up by spring of 2026.
