November 13, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Jackson, Mn.)– A Jackson man was injured Friday in a freak accident.

The Minnesota State Patrol says James Breland of Jackson was driving a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder southbound on Highway 71 north of Jackson. Another vehicle, a semi, was also southbound. Troopers say the semi struck a deer in the roadway, which was thrown into the Nissan.

Breland sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Windom Hospital.

The mishap took place a little before 7:00 am.
