Jackson Has A New City Administrator

January 17, 2025 Steve Schwaller

(Jackson, Mn)– Jackson has a new City Administrator. Mayor Marcus Polz says they’ve signed an agreement with James Langborg for the position. Mayor Marcus Polz says they were impressed with Langborg’s resume…

“I think what really stood out about Jim is just his experience in administration in general. He’s got decades of experience as a fire chief mostly, but when it comes in terms of administration a lot of those skills are going to be interchangeable. A lot of what he was doing was running a city itself from within his larger fire department.”

Mayor Polz thinks Langborg’s emergency management experience will prove to be beneficial…

“We’re going through some transitions in the city right now where we’ve been largely a volunteer ambulance service and we’ve been kind of hiring more full time paramedics and EMT’s, looking to get into things like community paramedicine. I believe he’s going to have a lot of leadership skills that are applicable to our success in that as well as what we’ve experienced with the flood and having to deal with FEMA. He’s got a lot of emergency management experience. I think that will benefit us as we kind of move forward and grow as a city.”

The tentative start date will be March 10th as Langborg will be relocating to Jackson from Greenfield, CA.
