(Brewster, Mn.)– A two-vehicle crash Wednesday night on Highway 60 in Jackson county has claimed a life.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 37-year-old Thok Hosnyang of Mankato was driving a 2000 Dodge Durango eastbound when the vehicle skidded off the road. It went into the median and flipped, coming to rest upside down in the center of the westbound lanes. A westbound 2001 Toyota Tundra driven by 25-year-old David Kleinsasser of Sioux Falls then came upon the scene and collided with the wreckage.
Hosnyang had to be extricated from his vehicle. He was taken to Sanford Hospital in Worthington and was airlifted to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls with head and spine injuries.
A passenger in Hosnyang’s vehicle, 29-year-old Gatbel Koch of Mankato, was pronounced dead.
No injuries were reported to Kleinsasser or a passenger in his vehicle.
Severe damage was reported to the Dodge Durango driven by Hosnyang with heavy front-end damage reported to the Toyota Tundra driven by Kleinsasser.
Authorities say the crash took place around 10:30 p.m. on Highway 60 east of Brewster. They say the road was icy at the time.
