(Jackson)- A possible scam was reported to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday. Deputies responded to a report on 1:20 pm Tuesday, when a male called a local pastor and stated that he had just been released from prison in Waseca around three weeks ago. The male was trying to travel to Chicago, but didn’t have the money to do so.
Stating that he was in Petersburg, he demanded money for a bus ticket, and threatened his own life if he didn’t get the money, saying he would jump off a nearby bridge. After being reported, a deputy drove to Petersburg and searched the area, but did not locate anyone. Dispatch then called the party back, who did answer the call, but quickly hung up when they realized who had called.
