(Des Moines)– The Iowa Utilities Board is denying a request for an environmental impact study for Navigator Heartland Greenway’s proposed construction of a carbon capture pipeline. The request for the study was made by the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.
The IUB in October of this year also denied a request from the tribe for a similar study for the proposed Summit Carbon Solutions carbon capture pipeline.
The IUB states it will “consider specific environmental issues raised by the IUB and the parties as part of the public evidentiary hearing and in consideration of whether to grant Navigator a hazardous liquid pipeline permit.”
