Officials with Black Hills Energy say there are a few things we should do to get ready. They include having your heating system checked by a professional along with checking air filters and clearing out dust. As far as saving energy and keeping your utility bill down, they recommend lowering your thermostat and installing a smart or programmable thermostat, along with weather stripping and caulking around doors and windows.
