It Was A Busy Monday Afternoon For The Estherville Fire Department

June 24, 2025

(Estherville)– It was a busy Monday afternoon for the Estherville Fire Department, with two calls within about an hour and-a-half of each other. Chief Travis Sheridan says the first involved a vehicle that left the road and went into a ravine near the river along 130th Street northwest of Estherville. The driver of that vehicle was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. That call came in around 1:50.

Firefighters were notified a short time later, a little after 3:30 pm, of a structure fire on North 10th Street. An occupant in the house was injured while escaping through a window with the assistance of a neighbor. Firefighters were able to quickly attack the fire with minimal damage reported. The injured resident was taken by ambulance to a hospital for further evaluation.

The Estherville Police Department, Emmet County Sheriff’s Office, the Wallingford Fire Department, Estherville Ambulance Service, Estherville Electric Department and Black Hills Energy. The Estherville Fire Department also extended a thank you to community members for their quick response and assistance.
