It May Take A Bit To Get Here, But Forecasters Say Warmer Days Are Ahead

January 16, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– It appears the cold snap we’re experiencing is going to stick around yet for the next few days. Meteorologist Karl Weiser of the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says there could be slight moderation Wednesday, but he says it won’t be until the latter part of this weekend before we start to see more appreciable warming…

“It’s going to take awhile. Even Friday and Saturday we’re still stuck in the single digits for highs. But then as we get into Sunday probably some 20’s and Monday next week back into the 30’s. So the outlook through the end of January right now looking like we should see near to above normal temperatures which is great. With all of the snow on the ground around us that kind of limits our potential to warm up a little bit, but at least we’ll be going back into more of a warm pattern and won’t be suffering like we have been the last few days.”

Weiser says some snow chances return to the forecast but he says any accumulation should be very light for us.
