(Arnolds Park)– The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association today (Mon.) announced its 2011 inductees into its Hall of Fame.
Iowa bands and individual musicians that will be inducted this year include The Expressions from Pocahontas; Roadhouse of Sioux City; Midnite Express of Decorah; The Sheffields from Eddyville; Freedom Road of Whittemore; Tommy Elgin of Sioux City; Dartanyan Brown of Des Moines; Sticks ‘n Stones of Estherville; Tim Canfield of Cedar Rapids; The Buzzards from Iowa City and the Mad Hatters of Des Moines.
Out-of-Iowa honorees include Illinois-based band Head East; promoter Jerry Davis of Peoria, Arizona and radio station KKOJ/KRAQ of Jackson, Minnesota.
The Dan Marousek Lifetime Achievement Award for 2011 will be presented to Ralph Lundquist of Lake Park and Tom Bethke, also known as Tom Alan, of Fort Dodge.
Ballrooms that will be inducted this year include the Chicken Inn at Creston; the Coliseum in Oelwein and the TAHO Club of Spirit Lake.
Support Staff Person of the year is Bob Economaki and booking agent Tom Blecker both of Des Moines.
The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association’s Spirit Award this year goes to the Arnolds Park Amusement Park and Route 86 Music of Milford.
The association will hold its two-day induction spectacular celebration Saturday and Sunday, September 3rd and 4th at the Roof Garden in Arnolds Park.
