(Spirit Lake)– Iowans can start requesting absentee ballots for the November general election starting today (Tues.). Jordan Moyer oversees elections at the Dickinson County Auditor’s Office…
“70 days before the election is when you can start requesting absentee ballots, and the first day to vote by either getting your ballot mailed out or voting in our office is going to be October 19th. And absentee voting is going to be located in the election room in our office. It will not be across the street like it was the last time.”
Moyer says there are a couple of ways in which to request an absentee ballot…
“They can either call our office otherwise we do have that absentee request form on our website that they can actually type in what they want and then they’ll just have to print that out and sign it and get it back into our office. And just to remind people we do have a shorter time frame that those ballots can be mailed out. October 19th is the first day but October 24th is the last day that we can get those mailed out to you so that we are sure that you do get that ballot back to our office in time, and that ballot does need to be back in our office by the close of the election on November 8th at 8:00 pm.”
