(Undated)– Millions who depend on the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for food benefits will soon no longer be able to use it to buy things like soda and candy. At least 18 states are making changes to the food program, according to the Department of Agriculture.
Changes vary by state, but largely include bans on soft drinks, candy and sweetened beverages.
Iowa is among the states putting the new rules into effect January 1st.
