The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association has announced the finalists for the Iowa Rocks Talent Competition, which will be held at the Roof Garden Ballroom Saturday afternoon.
Executive Director Clay Norris says the finalists will compete in the Individual and Band Categories:
“We’ve got 3 individuals that are finalists and 5 bands, and they are literally from one corner of the state to the other. So, the individuals, Ryan Ahrenholtz from Defiance, Iowa, and then Adalynn Budke, and Adalynn is from Cedar Falls, and then Kelsie James, so those are the individuals. Then the bands. There is Anthropoid, and Anthropoid is from clear over in Clinton, Iowa. There’s a band called JANA, and they are from Des Moines. Old Man Jenkins from the Omaha-Council Bluffs area. Revolution from right here in Milford, and VooDoo Child from right here in Graettinger. So, those are the 2 local bands.”
The state-wide competition is open to musicians age 21 and under, with the finalists set to compete in the battle of the bands style event.
The winner in each category will receive recording studio time and have the opportunity to open The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame Induction Concert on Sunday evening.
The Iowa Rocks Talent Finals will be held at The Roof Garden Saturday afternoon starting at 1 o’clock and are free and open to the public.
