(Arnolds Park)-There’s a special Okoboji Rocks Concert on tap Friday night. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association will present The Everly Brothers Experience as part of the Okoboji Rocks Concert Series on Friday evening at The Roof Garden Ballroom.
The group features brothers Zachary and Dylan Zmed. Zach says, the show tells their story, as well as that of The Everly Brothers. “We’re definitely not playing to any tracks. We’re just a small band playing everything live. You know, Dylan and I, we’re not impersonators at all. It’s 100 percent us being ourselves as brothers telling our own story and The Everly Brothers’ story in tandem. We kind of go through The Everly Brothers’ career chronologically with multi-media. So, it’s a presentation and we are just so grateful to keep getting to do this, especially in historic places, it’s very special for us.”
The doors will open at 6:30 with opening act Hillyard & Sullivan starting at 7:15. The Everly Brothers Experience will take the stage at 8 o’clock.
The concert kicks off The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame Induction Weekend.
