(Arnolds Park)-The Rock the Roof Concert Series has been announced. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association has announced the 20th Anniversary Season of The Rock The Roof Concert Series.
Executive Director Clay Norris says, the lineup will feature some regional favorites. “There are a lot of bands that the folks love to see every year. Denny & The DC Drifters are coming back, and they’re actually an Inductee this year. We have groups like Starfire, Richie Lee & The Fabulous 50’s, The Expressions, and we’ve got some nice local bands that we haven’t had in awhile, like Lake Patrol, Rock a La Carte, Glenn Henriksen and Galaxy. Oh, there’s Mogen’s Heroes and Surfin’ Safari from the Sioux Falls area. We’ve just got a great lineup this year.”
He notes that the concerts will mostly be held on Wednesday nights this summer. “Way back, that was the big Roof Garden day, for years, was Wednesday night. Most of our shows are on Wednesday. There are a couple exceptions.”
He adds that season passes are currently on sale. “The price to get into Rock the Roof is $15 if you’re not a member. We encourage you to become a member of The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association. Members will pay only $12, but if you buy a season pass, you get 12 punches on that card for $120, which is $10 each.”
