(Estherville)-Iowa Lakes Community College will hold their Veterans Day Program in Estherville next week. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:

Iowa Lakes Community College will honor Veterans on November 11 at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center in Estherville.
Veteran Center Director Tim Ireland says the event will feature Keynote Speaker Colonel Sonya L. Morrison. “We have all female speakers, that’s why we’re calling it The Celebration of Women in the Military. Dr. Melissa Lutat will be the Master of Ceremonies. Danessa Bruner, one of our students, she’s going to tell about the history of Veterans Day. Colonel Sonya Morrison is the first female Commander of the 185th Air Refueling Wing in Sioux City and she’ll be our guest speaker.”
He notes that Veterans can enjoy a free meal following the program. “The program is going to start at 11 o’clock. It will last about an hour, and then after that, any Veteran can come and have a free meal at our cafeteria there at the Estherville Campus, plus one. So, they can bring a spouse or maybe they have their son with them, or whatever. So, two free meals per Veteran at the Estherville Campus.”
The Veterans Day Program will start at 11 am on Friday, November 11 and is free and open to the public.
