(Spencer)– Iowa Lakes Regional Water has been awarded a 1.8 million dollar grant and a loan of slightly more than 3.1 million to expand and improve its water system.
The funding is coming from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Water and Waste Disposal Program.
Iowa Lakes Regional officials say the funds will be used to add new customers to their water system in their service area, along with purchasing a new well site, upgrading equipment and increasing water supplies.
They say the various projects will benefit residents within their service areas in Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Palo Alto and Pocahontas counties.
