Iowa Lakes Corridor Elects New Directors, Officers

(Spencer)– The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation has a new slate of officers and directors.

Steven Pick of Spencer Municipal Utilties was elected to his first three-year term on the board representing Clay county. Curt Johnson, representing Dickinson county, was elected Chairman; Bill Bumgarner of Spencer was elected Vice Chairman; and Dick Drahota, representing Buena Vista county, was elected Treasurer. All will be serving their second three-year term on the board, which begins July 1st.

Board members were elected based on ballots distributed to investors of Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation. The ballots were ratified by the board.

The 2009-2010 board of directors are Curt Johnson of Okoboji, Bill Bumgarner of Spencer, Dick Drahota of Storm Lake, Terry Yarns of Spirit Lake, Fred Moore of Storm Lake, Lyle Hevern of Estherville, Pat Reno of Sioux Rapids, Steve Grell of Spencer, Brad Simington of Milford, Larry Anderson of Estherville and Steven Pick of Spencer.

One board seat in Emmet county is vacant due to Bill Bumgarner’s relocation to Spencer. It’s expected to be filled by mid-July.

The first meeting for the 2009-2010 board will be held July 13th as part of the Corridor’s annual meeting at King’s Pointe Resort in Storm Lake. The event will feature Keith Eyler of ITC Midwest providing information on the Green Power Express, a proposed high-voltage electrical transmission project to connect wind energy production in the upper midwest to major population centers.
