(Spencer)– The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation held its annual Business Recognition Luncheon Wednesday in Spencer.
Andrew Geelan of Geelan Funeral Home of Spencer was named Young Professional of the Year; Laura Bjornstad and Samantha Ring of Boat House Apparel of Arnolds Park received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award; VeSo Coffee of Storm Lake was recognized for Small Business Excellence and Buena Vista Regional Medical Center of Storm Lake was recognized in the Large Business Excellence category.
Awards were also presented to First Children’s Finance for Partner of the Year and Talon Development for Housing Champion.
Brad Beck, Keith Deitering and Jed Skogerboe were recognized for their years of service on the Corridor Board.
Special recognition was also given to the late Toby Shine for his contributions to the region and for being one of the co-founders of the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation and the Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute. The Corridor Lifetime Impact Award was presented to Shine’s family in his memory.
