(Spencer)– The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation has a new Vice President of Economic Development. Trevor Smith will begin in that position in November.
Smith is a native of the area and is a Spirit Lake High School graduate. He has a Bachelor of Science in Sports Studies from the University of Iowa. He then attended the University of Nevada-Las Vegas where he received a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction for education technology. Smith has worked under leaders such as Fran McCaffery and T.J. Otzelberger. He most recently was assistant basketball coach at Southeastern Community College.
Smith has experience in recruitment, fundraising, programming, leadership and relationship-building.
