Iowa Lakes Community College Music Department to present 24th Annual Elizabethan Madrigal “Feaste” December 1 & 2

November 16, 2023 Becky Thoreson

(Estherville)-Reservations are being accepted for the Annual Madrigal Feaste at Iowa Lakes Community College. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:

The Iowa Lakes Community College Music Department will present The 24th Annual Elizabethan Madrigal Feaste on December 1 and 2.
Vocal Music Professor Brett Fuelbert says the event features a full evening of entertainment. “We serve a four course meal, it’s just kind of interspersed within a lot of entertainment. We have Jester who tells jokes, and there are lines given and everyone hopefully laughs and has a great time, and then of course we provide a lot of Christmas music that the singers will sing and there will be solos. Our performers dress up in Renaissance-era clothing and we decorate The Performing Arts Center Lobby there as a castle. So, it really feels like you’ve gone back in time.”
He adds that reservations are required. “Most years we do sell out, so people do have to get their tickets. You can’t come to the door because we need to know how many meals we’re preparing. So, November 24th is the last day to be able to get tickets, so that’s coming up quickly and so make sure to get your tickets as soon as possible.”
The Madrigal Feaste will begin at 6:30 each evening.
