(Estherville)-Iowa Lakes Community College has announced their Music Hall of Fame Inductees. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Iowa Lakes Music Department will honor Inductees at the 2023 Music Hall of Fame Awards April 14 at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center in Estherville.
Instrumental Music Professor Carol Ayes explains that awards will be presented for multiple years. “It’s complicated because we haven’t done it for a few years due to covid, so we have more people than we normally have. One of the people is the local, Trudy Hopton, a lot of people know her. She’s involved in many things including the Okoboji Summer Theatre. Tom Spalding is deceased, but we want to still honor him and his family for all the things he did during his lifetime. Our Jazz Guys, Tony Gulizia Joey Gulizia and Andy Hall. So, in 2023 is Dave Petrick, and we all know him. He’s from Spirit Lake and he’s an incredible photographer and Dave spends endless hours at the College taking pictures music events. The other 2023 Inductee is Barb Nissen. She’s a wonderful lady from Estherville who has been involved in many music events.”
The event includes dinner and reservations are required by the end of March.
