Iowa Great Lakes Hosts Iowa Tourism Conference

(Arnolds Park)– The Iowa Great Lakes is hosting the 2011 Iowa Tourism Conference which gets underway Wednesday (10/19) and runs through Friday (10/21). Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center in Okoboji is the event’s headquarters.

Tom Kuhlman, Executive Director of the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, tells KUOO news the event will provide an economic shot in the arm to the lakes area at a time when traditionally things are starting to shut down for the season…Click here to hear mp3 file

While the conference itself officially gets underway Wednesday (10/19), Kuhlman says they’ll be welcoming attendees this (Wed.) evening with a sunset cruise of West Lake Okoboji on the Queen Two, followed by a fireworks display…Click here to hear mp3 file

Kuhlman says the last time the Iowa Great Lakes hosted the event 25 years ago, they played golf in the snow.
